The general strike of young doctors is maintained. The meeting held on Monday, April 28, 2025 between Tunisia Organization of Youth Doctors (OTJM) and the Ministry of Health has resulted in any concrete agreement.
In a press release, the organization deplored the absence of real will on the part of the health authorities, denouncing a persistent “delay policy” despite the recognition by the representatives of the Ministry of Legitimacy of Claims.
The OTJM castigates what it describes as contempt for working conditions and the rights of young practitioners, emphasizing material precariousness and the structural difficulties they encounter daily in hospitals. The ministry, according to the organization, takes refuge behind “administrative complexities”, perpetuating a heavy bureaucracy at the expense of the dignity of the medical profession and the quality of care.
The national organization of the organization reaffirmed its rejection of any attempt to dilute or procrastinate in the management of this file. He calls on all of its members to maintain the pressure and fully respect the strike watch as well as the national march scheduled for Friday May 2.
