On the sidelines of the 9ᵉ Tokyo International Conference on the development of Africa (Ticad 9), the Tunisian government’s heading, Sarra Zaâfarani Zenzri, met the president of the Libyan delegation on Thursday and member of the presidential council, Abdallah al-Lafi. The two officials agreed to consolidate bilateral cooperation in all areas.
The meeting made it possible to review several Tunis-Libyan cooperation files, in the economic, security and social fields. The two parties expressed their common desire to raise the partnership at a strategic level, at the service of mutual interests of the two peoples.
Sarra Zaâfarani Zenzri and Abdallah al-Lafi welcomed fraternal relations between Tunis and Tripoli, qualified as “exemplary”, and affirmed their determination to expand this partnership in a spirit of solidarity and regional complementarity.
The 9ᵉ edition of the Ticad is held from August 20 to 22 at the Yokohama conference center in Japan. This event, which brings together heads of state, governments and international organizations, is a platform for dialogue and partnerships in favor of sustainable development of the African continent.
