World Bio Summit 2025: Tunisia is launching a biotraining center

During The 4ᵉ edition of the World Bio Summit 2025held Wednesday in Seoul (South Korea), the Tunisian Minister of Health, Mustapha Ferjani, announced the launch of a National Biomedical Training Center (biotraining) in accordance with GMP standards, aimed at strengthening Africa’s capacities in the manufacture of drugs and vaccines.

The new biotraining center will train doctors, researchers and technicians according to international standards, in order to promote regional autonomy in pharmaceutical and vaccine production. This initiative is part of Tunisia’s desire to become an African hub of biotechnology and health.

Artificial intelligence and digital solutions

During his intervention, Ferjani also proposed a strengthening of cooperation in artificial intelligence to improve health care. He mentioned the development of digital solutions including screening, telemedicine and vocational training, in order to modernize the health system and facilitate access to care.

Age-Tech and quality of life of the elderly

The Minister stressed the importance of international cooperation in the field of age-tech, aimed at improving the quality of life of the elderly. He was inspired by the avant-garde experience of South Korea to offer innovative solutions adapted to the Tunisian and African context.

Ferjani has appealed to international partners to invest in Tunisia and allow all citizens to benefit from health innovations. He reaffirmed Tunisia’s commitment to use technologies as a tool to guarantee health justice and improve care services.
