The president of the consumer’s orientation organization, Lotfi Riahi, said this Wednesday, May 28, 2025 that the purchasing power of Tunisian families did not allow them to be entertained during the summer holidays, according to him.
During her intervention on Express FM waves, Riahi said that the cost of a tourist stay in a three -star hotel for a family of four people exceeds 2,000 dinars for 5 days, while stay in a five -star hotel can reach 6000 dinars, prices deemed excessive according to him.
He added that for residents of working -class neighborhoods who try to spend their holidays in the north or south suburbs of Tunis, daily expenses vary between 150 and 200 dinars.
Lotfi Riahi estimated that the cost of inner tourism is extremely high, calling for encouraging solidarity tourism, in particular by providing university and school restaurants for children during the summer.
The president of the organization has finally stressed that many Tunisian families have not been able to go on summer vacation for five years, due to the deterioration of their purchasing power in the face of the rise in internal tourism prices.
