Buying a car in Tunisia should not be limited to comparing purchase prices, but to evaluating the investment as a whole. This is what Mehdi Mahjoub, specialist in the automotive sector, recalled during his appearance on the show Espresso on Express FMWednesday November 12, 2025.
According to him, any buyer must think in terms of total cost of ownership (TCO), an indicator which encompasses much more than the simple acquisition price. This cost includes fuel consumption, maintenance costs, warranty duration and conditions, as well as the quality of after-sales service.
Mahjoub also insists on the need to check the reliability of the vehicle, the availability of spare parts and the brand’s service network in the country, all elements which directly influence durability and comfort of use.
Another criterion often overlooked: resale value. A vehicle that maintains a good rating on the second-hand market allows you to better amortize the initial investment.
For him, buying a car in Tunisia today requires a global and rational approach: beyond the price, it is a question of evaluating a set of economic and practical factors determining to make a sustainable and profitable choice.
