The former Governor of Tunis, Chedly Bouallegue, was placed under a warrant last Friday by the investigating judge at the Tunis 2 tribunal of Tunis 2, following an open investigation concerning a rental contract for official accommodation.
This contract would have been concluded in favor of a public official, an act signed by Bouallegue when he held the post of president of the Local Development Council at a time prior to his appointment as governor.
The case is part of a series of surveys aimed at examining possible irregularities in the management of public goods and the transparency of administrative procedures during its functions.
Chedly Bouallegue, who has exercised several administrative functions during his career, notably held the posts of governor of Kasserine, Kef and finally Tunis. Its management has sometimes been criticized, although some attribute efforts to regional development, especially in the less developed areas of the country.
