The vice-president of the Tunisian University of Travel and Tourism agencies, Sami Ben Saïdane, said, this Thursday, April 3, 2025, that the success rate of the Omra season was deemed satisfactory.
During his intervention on Tunisian National Radio, he said that the number of Tunisians having carried out their Omra until Ramadan was around 105,000 pilgrims, while 8,000 additional pilgrims accomplished their Omra during the sacred month.
Sami Ben Saïdane stressed that a series of problems, encountered in previous seasons, were avoided this year thanks to better organization. However, he recognized that there were some difficulties, but insisted that these problems were out of the reach of Tunisian travel agencies.
Regarding the rise in prices, he explained that it was mainly due to excessive costs, in particular in Medina, where the price of the economic chambers, initially around 350 rials, increased considerably, reaching nearly 800 rials.
