The Department of the Private Sector of the Tunisian Labor General Union (UGTT) reaffirmed, Monday, September 1, 2025, its attachment to professional and social rights of workers. This declaration was published in a press release after a meeting held on August 28.
The UGTT has held the government as well as the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Crafts (UTICA) For responsible for blocking the revision of collective agreements in the private sector, in particular those relating to the increase in wages and the improvement of working conditions.
In a context marked by the outbreak of prices and the growing precarious precariousness in the private sector, the union insisted that the increase in wages constitutes a right for workers and not a favor. He also warned against the repercussions of a country’s social climate climate policy.
