In a press release emanating from Department of Social Protection and Informal Sectorthe union center denounces a ” silent hecatombe “Where workers” continue to pay their health and sometimes their lives the price of a faulty system “.
“The workers continue to offer their bodies and their lives in sacrifice on the altar of a ruined health and professional security system,” writes the UGTT, accusing certain employers of “despising the fundamental rights of workers to a healthy and safe work environment”, taking advantage of the passivity of the state and lack of effective control.
The union also criticizes The Ministry of Social Affairswhich he accuses of being satisfied with a “propaganda speech” around an embellished image of the situation, without real implementation of the promised reforms.
According to the UGTT, several international commitments and national programs remain a dead letter, like:
- of Agreement n ° 187 on the promotional framework for occupational health and safety, ratified since July 2022;
- of Salma national programadopted in October 2023;
- and Decree creating the National Council for Professional Health and Securityblocked since July 2024.
The union also denounces the Politicization of the file and “the marginalization of technical structures and social partners”, in particular within the National Health Insurance Fund (CNAM)which has been without direction since November 2023.
Faced with this situation, the UGTT calls the Ministry of Social Affairs to fully assume its responsibilities And to stop bringing workers the cost of the delay of the state in their protection.
