The Tunisian embassy in Jordan calls on Tunisians traveling to the kingdom to comply with the new measures decided by the Jordanian authorities concerning the stay of foreigners. These changes include a reporting obligation and tougher financial sanctions.

In a press release published Wednesday January 7, 2026, the Tunisian embassy in Amman indicates that the authorities have amended the law on the residence and affairs of foreigners. Any foreign visitor who stays in the country for more than two weeks must now report to the Residency and Border Administration, one of its regional branches or the relevant security post.

This process consists of declaring your address and personal information.
Failure to comply with this obligation is punishable by a fine of 200 Jordanian dinars, or approximately US$282.

Hosting a stranger also becomes a responsibility

The embassy specifies that article 14 of the law has also been tightened.
Anyone hosting a foreigner – free of charge or against payment – must inform the authorities within 48 hours of their arrival or departure.
Failure to declare also exposes the host to a fine of 200 dinars.

The embassy therefore invites Tunisian citizens to respect these new rules in order to avoid any sanctions during their stay in Jordan.
