Two former senior executives of the Ministry of Commerce were sentenced to prison terms by the Criminal Chamber specializing in financial corruption cases at the Tunis Court of First Instance.
The judges found them guilty of financial and administrative embezzlement linked to their management within the department, Mosaique fm reported this Friday, October 17.
The case dates back to the investigation carried out by the Financial Judicial Unit into alleged corrupt practices affecting the senior administration of the Ministry of Commerce.
Following this investigation, the Indictment Chamber of the Tunis Court of Appeal decided to refer five managers and former general directors to justice. Two of them have just been convicted, while the others remain prosecuted in the same case.
