Tunisia marked history during the third edition of the European International Olive Olive Competition (Eiooc), which was held from April 22 to 24, 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland. She surpassed the giants of olive oil production, Greece and Spain, winning an impressive total of 79 medals, thus consolidating her position as world leader in the field of extra virgin olive oil.
According to Raouf Choukat, president of the Global International Olive Olive Olive Olive Competitions (Giooc) group, Tunisia won 56 gold medals for the quality of its oils, 19 gold medals for their health benefits, and four silver medals. An exceptional performance that reflects excellence and innovation in the Tunisian olive sector.
Choukat specified, in a declaration granted to the TAP agency, that Greece and Spain completed the podium, respectively in the second and third positions. The event brought together 13 countries producing olive oil, including Turkey, Italy, Algeria, Jordan, Morocco and other renowned nations in the olive sector.
A jury made up of 12 international experts from Tunisia, Spain, Greece, Italy, Argentina, Turkey and Algeria supervised this competition, the objective of which is to highlight the best extra virgin olive oils of the world.
The Giooc is organizing several international olive oil competitions each year, including the Global Olive Oil Competitions in Abu Dhabi, the Scandinavian International Olive Oil Competition in Stockholm, and the United States International Olive Olive Competition in Miami.
With this new success, Tunisia confirms its leading role in the production of extra virgin olive oil, a flagship product of its agriculture and a major asset on international markets.
