He recalled that the experience of tele-medicine has already been launched at the Tabarka hospital (Jendouba governorate), with the remote reading of scanners for three patients, as well as the carrying out of ten medical examinations for ten patients at the local hospital in Chebika (Kairouan governorate).

The Ministry of Health plans to give Priority to interior and rural areas in the deployment of the tele-medicine center. “Citizens of distant regions will soon benefit from nearby health services thanks to artificial intelligence and modern technologies, thus reducing travel constraints,” said Chekhari.

This initiative places Tunisia at the forefront of the development of digital hospitals in Africa, paving the way for more equitable and faster access to medical care for all citizens, especially those living in isolated areas.
