The Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, led an extended meeting on Friday July 18. She met the main managers of companies active in the energy field there: production, transport, storage, refining and distribution.

The Secretary of State for the Energy Transition, Wael Chouchane, and the chief of staff, Afef Chachi Tayari, were also present.

The objective of this meeting was clear: to take stock of the financial and technical situation of companies in the sector. Their action programs for the coming months were also examined.

This regular monitoring makes it possible to identify current challenges and better prepare for the future. Several reform tracks have been mentioned. In particular, they aim to encourage investment, improve the management of energy resources and set up structural changes.

The Minister insisted on the need to strengthen collaboration between players in the sector. According to her, this will guarantee the country’s energy security while meeting environmental issues.

She also called to accelerate the implementation of current projects. For her, renewable energies must become a priority, because they are essential for sustainable development and the revival of the national economy.
