Tunisia: towards better management of pumping stations in industrial areas

A mixed committee under the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy will be created to examine the situation of the pumping stations of the water located in the industrial areas, on a case -by -case basis, both on the technical and immobilier level.

The objective is to transfer their management to the National Sanitation Office (ONAS), in accordance with legal procedures and within the shortest deadlines.

This decision was made at the end of Udo not meet on Wednesday at the Ministry, chaired by the Minister of Industry, Dhe mines and energy, Fatma Thabet Chayeboub, in the presence of the CEO of the ONAS, the CEO of the Industrial Foncière Agency as well as senior officials of the two institutions and the ministry, according to an official press release.

Participants stressed the importance of this transfer to guarantee the maintenance of equipment and improve the quality of services in industrial areas. The Minister insisted on the need to strengthen coordination between the two structures and to simplify administrative procedures, in order to achieve practical and sustainable solutions at the service of the general interest.

In the same context, and to ensure an industrial infrastructure in accordance with the needs of the sector and the expectations of investors, the Minister spoke with the CEO of the industrial land agency, Kais Mejri, and several of her executives in order to follow the progress of the projects scheduled.
