There Tunisia is about to launch a national drug control programin parallel with the development of a national strategy for reducing social violenceannounced the Colonel Fakhreddine Kadrifrom the Ministry of the Interior.
Speaking on national radio waves, the manager stressed that Recent studies have shown a close link between drug use and the rise of violenceespecially in school circles.
“This is why our action begins within educational establishments, which bring together most of Tunisian youth,” he said.
A global and intersectoral approach
The program is revolving around Three main axes ::
- Prevention and awarenesswith information campaigns in schools and risky neighborhoods;
- The fight against offerled by security forces and customs services to slow traffic and distribution;
- Care and reintegration of dependent peopleunder the supervision of Ministry of Health and with the support of Ministry of Social Affairs for their social and professional reinstatement.
A national mobilization
This announcement was made during a awareness event on the dangers of drugs and psychotropic substances in the school environmentorganized this Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the City of culture in Tunis.
More than 750 participants took part, including 650 representatives of the Ministry of Educationas well as members of other ministries and civil societytestifying to a Multisectoral mobilization around this national issue.
“The fight against drugs is not only a case of security, but a question of public health and social cohesion,” insisted Colonel Kadri.
