As part of the mobilization of land with a view to carrying out public projects, the Minister of State and Land Affairs, Wajdi El Hadhili, presided this Monday, July 28, 2025 at the headquarters of the Ministry a meeting of the National Consultative Commission for Land Operations.
This meeting, which took part in all the members of the commission, made it possible to approve several transactions of sale of state property for the benefit of public institutions. Among the beneficiaries are the Housing Land Agency, the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG), as well as the municipalities of Gafsa and Kébili. These transfers are part of the legal and regulatory framework in force.
In addition, the Commission validated the acquisition of land intended for the realization of projects relating to the Ministries of the Interior, Health and Education. Certain files have also made it possible to regularize the land situation of individuals involved in related operations.
In a context of urban pressure and economic recovery, these operations meet an urgent need to accelerate public projects in the fields of housing, energy, health or even education.
This meeting is part of a larger national dynamic, which has been initiated for several months, aimed at optimizing land governance. In January 2025, a restricted ministerial council had already laid the foundations for an ambitious strategy for enhancing the state’s land. Among the priorities: the creation of a national land portal, the complete digitization of the land register, as well as the revision of decree n ° 120 to facilitate the allocation of state land to high added value projects.
Another structuring measure: the regularization of 1,200 agglomerations illegally established on state land, allowing nearly 150,000 housing units to access property securities. This policy aims to integrate these goods into the economic circuit and to provide legal certainty to the occupants.
