Tunisia: the SNJT denounces the Zionist attacks against Yassine Gaidi

THE National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) announced this Sunday of his deep anger and indignation After the violent assault suffered by the Tunisian journalist Yassine Gaidimember of the union’s executive office, detained in the prisons of the Israeli occupation.

According to the SNJT press release, Yassine Gaidi was the victim of a “barbaric and wild act”leading to serious physical injuries following Inhuman tortures and treatments inflicted by the occupation forces.

The union emphasizes that what happened to its member is not an isolated incidentbut is part of a daily practice targeting them Imprisoned Palestinians and journalists which cover the reality of the occupation.

“What happened to our colleague Yassine Gaidi is the daily bread of the Palestinians detained in the prisons of the occupation, where the worst forms of repression and torture are exercised against journalists and disarmed civilians,” the statement said.

SNJT condemns with the greatest firmness These repeated human rights and international violations, and requires immediate and unconditional release of all journalists detained in the prisons of the occupation, as well as of all the members of the “Al-Soumoud” flotilla arrested while they were doing their humanitarian and media duty.

The union also calls All the living forces in Tunisia and in the world to intensify efforts and to exercise political and diplomatic pressures On the occupying authorities and their allies, in order to obtain the release of Yassine Gaidi and all of the detainees.

Finally, the SNJT reaffirms that these practices will not intimidate Tunisian journalists or their colleagues around the worlddetermined to continue their mission of truth:

“These crimes will not silence free voices. Journalists will continue to defend the Palestinian cause and to denounce the violations committed by the occupation, until the Palestinian people obtain their freedom and their legitimate rights. »»
