Tunisia: The filling rate of the dams reaches 38.1%

The Tunisian dams filling rate was 38.1% on June 27, 2025, recording an increase of 27.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the latest statistics published by the National Observatory of Agriculture (UNAGRI).

On the same date, the water reserves reached 902 million cubic meters (m³). Although this figure exceeds the average of the last three years -estimated at 850.3 million m³ -, the increase remains relatively modest, of the order of 6 million m³.

The dams located in the north of the country display a higher filling rate, reaching 44.5%, with a volume of water estimated at 826.4 million m³, which represents an increase of 25% compared to the same period in 2024.

On the other hand, the center dams record only a filling rate of 12.9% (or 58.2 million m³), ​​while those of CAP-Bon reach 28% (17.2 million m³).

Regarding the water intake of June 27, 2025, they are estimated at 0.230 million m³, coming almost exclusively from the Northern dams. For the same day, the total use of resources was evaluated at 2,388 million m³.

Since the start of the hydrological season, from September 1, 2024 to June 26, 2025, the cumulative intake amount to 965.9 million m³, recording an increase of 48% compared to the previous season.
