In a statement to Mosaic FM, the Bâtonnier of Lawyers, Hatem Meziou, announced that the Congress of the National Association of Lawyers will begin on September 12, 2025 at the Cité de la Culture in Tunis. The next day, the lawyers will vote to elect the president and the members of the Council of the Order.
The candidates began to present themselves on August 6. The submission of applications will end twenty days before the ballot. The electoral campaign takes place normally and will end three days before the vote.
The Order’s Office has already received several applications. Some come from current members who wish to renew their mandate, others new applicants, inside and outside the council.
Hatem Meziou recalled that the decree governing the profession limits the Bâtonnier to a single mandate. The members of the Council can represent themselves without restriction.
