Faced with the strong winds that blow this Sunday, July 27 on the Tunisian coast, civil protection calls for the greatest vigilance. Two drownings have been identified and a person is still missing. The sea remains very agitated on the majority of the coast.

Civil protection launched an alert this Sunday via its spokesperson, calling on citizens to avoid swimming, especially when the red flag is hoisted or in the presence of strong winds. She also invites us to compose the 198 for any emergency.

Warning

This warning comes as weather conditions deteriorate throughout the Tunisian coast. In its bulletin of the day, the National Institute of Meteorology (INM) provides for strong winds to very strong near the coast, accompanied by local sandbbles of sand, as well as a sheep sea in the Gulf of Gabès and very agitated with locally stormy elsewhere.

The Tunisian weather and climate observatory supported this alert, stressing the particular danger represented by swimming near the Breeze Lames. These rocky structures can trap bathers under the effect of large waves generated by violent winds. The observatory calls for extreme vigilance on all Tunisian beaches.

Two dead

According to data communicated by this observatory, at least two people died by drowning during the last 24 hours, and another is missing, in addition to several rescue interventions.

These dramas illustrate the need to respect the safety instructions during the agitated sea period, often ignored despite repeated warnings.
