Tunisia: “Supporting life”, a job with guaranteed employment

Tunisia has a new job with high employability potential: accompanying him with life. Announced by the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Riadh Chaoued, this new vocational training sector presents itself as a direct response both to growing social assistance needs and to the need to strengthen the integration of young people in the world of work.

A humanly essential, professionally carrier profession

The function of accompanied by target life an often vulnerable audience: elderly, with disabilities, suffering from chronic diseases or with autism spectrum disorders. It is a question of offering them suitable support, both physical and psychologically and socially, in a logic of global support.

According to the minister, this training is designed to respond to high standards. It relies on the acquisition of skills in communication, basic care, in psychosocial support, as well as in management of sensitive situations. “These skills can only be developed in a rigorous framework, mixing theoretical learning and practical immersion,” he insisted.

An almost assured professional integration

Remarkable fact: the program displays a professional integration rate that can reach 100 %. This is explained by high demand, both national and internationally, for this type of qualified profiles. The ministry also provides for a continuous assessment of the course in order to guarantee the quality of the training and to constantly adapt it to the needs of the market.

The course will be available in public and private professional training centers, in accordance with a broader strategy for modernizing vocational training. This aims to better respond to the social realities of the country and the changes in the labor market, by developing trades that are both useful and carriers.

By investing in this new profession, Tunisia thus opens a double path: that of the social inclusion of fragile people, and that of a promising professional future for many young people in search of concrete prospects.
