Lotfi Riahi, President of the Tunisian Organization for Consumer Orientation (OTOC) returned this Tuesday August 12 to the summer sales season currently organized in Tunisia.
He said in this sense that “the season of summer sales in Tunisia is actually a marketing operation aimed at selling foreign products at exorbitant prices and poor quality”, adding: “This season is a disaster in the strict sense of the term”.
During his intervention on Jawhara FM radioRiahi explained that “the attendance rate is very low, due to excessive prices, despite reductions ranging from 20 to 30 %”, insisting on “the absence of a coherent price structure”.
He added that “80 % of the products are foreign while Tunisian products represent only 20 %”, stressing that “the prices of products in their country of origin are much lower compared to the prices charged in Tunisia”.
He called to “fix a maximum ceiling on the beneficiary margin at all stages, from the manufacture of components to wholesale and detailed merchants, in order to avoid the problem of inflation at a given time”.
