This Thursday, June 19, 2025 marks the kick -off of the national end -of -study examination of basic education, commonly known as “the ninth”, in the various governorates of Tunisia.

According to data communicated previously by the Ministry of Education, 33,489 students are called upon to take these tests, which will take place over three days, from June 19 to 21. Among them, 33,180 came from the ninth year of general basic education, while 309 students are from the technical sector.

Beyond the validation of the school career, this examination is of particular importance for students wishing to integrate a pilot high school. They will be in the running for one of the 3,750 places available in these elite establishments across the country, according to a ministerial decision dated May 12, 2025 setting the reception capacities for the start of the 2025-2026 school year.

The Ministry of Education assured that all logistical, security and organizational conditions are met in order to guarantee the smooth running of the tests in a fair and serene climate. Hundreds of teachers will be mobilized for the correction, and the results are expected for Tuesday, July 7, 2025.

For the record, in 2024, 32,911 candidates had passed this national exam, with a number of places in pilot high schools equivalent to that of this year.
