The National Cellulose Society and Alfa paper (SNCPA) in Kasserine has finalized the production of paper for textbooks for the start of the 2025-2026 school year. It started, in the process, the distribution of paper intended for subsidized notebooks.
The National Alfa paste company and paper announced this Tuesday, July 22, 2025 that it has completed the production of the entire paper necessary for the printing of textbooks for the next school year.
A first since the creation of the factory
On its official page, the company welcomes an achievement qualified as history and a feat achieved within a record period, a first since the creation of the factory.
The entire quantity produced has been successfully distributed, and despite the logistical and technical challenges, the factory has already started the distribution of paper intended for the manufacture of subsidized school notebooks.
The strategic role of the SNCPA
This milestone was praised as a national success, in a context marked by the recurring concerns on the availability of school equipment as we approach each school year.
The CEO of the company, Samia Briki, had indicated in March 2025 that the factory was officially responsible, by decision of the Council of Ministers, to produce 10,750 tonnes of paper intended for textbooks and school notebooks, a mission reaffirming the strategic role of this public enterprise.
Relaunch of local production
This is the first mobilization of this magnitude since 2018, the year when the factory had ceased to provide paper for the educational sector. Its recovery to meet the needs of the start of the 2025-2026 school year is part of a policy of reviving local production and reduction of imports to imports, in a sector as crucial as education.
