The Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy announced, in a press release published this Friday, June 13, 2025, the appointment of new presidents-and-general director at the head of two important public companies operating in the industrial sector.
This is the Ciments de Bizerte Society, a historic flagship of cement production in the north of the country, and the Tunisian sugar society, a key player in the transformation of sugar in Tunisia.
According to the official press release, Souheil Arfaoui was appointed CEO of the company Ciments de Bizerte, replacing the old direction.
As for the Tunisian Sugar Society, Mohsen Boularès takes the reins of the company as a new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
These changes at the head of public enterprises are involved in the broader framework of a willingness of the government to reform the governance of public societies in difficulty and to restore their strategic role in the national economic fabric.
This movement is part of a series of appointments and restructuring started since the start of the year, notably affecting the energy, mines and food sectors.
