The criminal chamber at the Tunis court of first instance decided to postpone the examination of the case brought against the president of the Ennahdha movement, Rached Ghannouchi, and several party leaders, next November.

The origin of the case dates back to a conference organized on April 15, 2023 by the “National Front of Salvation”, during which Ghannouchi had criticized the risk of exclusion and alerted to civil peace. Two days later, his home had been searched and several Ennahdha officials arrested.
The charges
They are prosecuted in particular for “conspiracy against state security”, under article 72 of the penal code. In addition, Ghannouchi has already been sentenced in various files, including that known as “Taghout”, the Instaltingo case, or the so -called “Plot 2” file. He refused to appear on several occasions, denouncing “political and unfair trials”.
