The Minister of Finance, Michket Slama Khaldi, affirmed this Tuesday, October 28, 2025, during a joint session of the Finance and Budget committees at the Assembly of People’s Representatives and the National Council of Regions and Districts, that there will be no complementary finance law during the current year.
She specified that the budget deficit, excluding donations and confiscation revenue, should reach 9,641 million dinars, or 5.6% of updated GDP, compared to 10,150 million dinars (5.5%) planned in the initial finance law for 2025, and 6.4% recorded in 2024. This level, according to the minister, remains in line with initial forecasts, making it possible to avoid recourse to a finance law. corrective finances.
Trade and growth
Michket Slama Khaldi also indicated that trade saw, at the end of September 2025, stability in exports and an increase in imports of 5.4%.
Furthermore, she highlighted that economic growth reached 3.2% in the second quarter of the year, while the unemployment rate fell to 15.3%, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
