The economic control teams of the Ministry of Commerce and Development of Exports carried out nearly 50,000 visits in August 2025. These operations raised 7,368 offenses and enter several tonnes of food and agricultural products.
Samir Khallafoui, director of economic surveys at the ministry, said in a statement to the TAP agency, that:
2066 teams led 49,774 field visits during the month of August. Inspections have targeted primarily the basic products distributed by official circuits, including minoteries and production units.
Massive seizures
The operations led to the entry of large quantities of goods, including 72 tonnes of subsidized cereal derivatives; 859 tonnes of fruits and vegetables; 46 tonnes of fodder; 30 tonnes of fertilizer; as well as coffee, tomatoes and subsidized notebooks.
The ministry claims to be mobilized to ensure supply during the summer, a period of high consumption, especially in tourist areas. Additional quantities of subsidized flour have been injected into the circuit, while daily monitoring is ensured for other foodstuffs.
Tensions on certain products
No major distribution problem has been found in markets, bakeries and sales circuits, with the exception of certain subsidized products such as coffee and sugar, faced with increased demand.
These tensions were attenuated by exceptional supplies, adapted to regional needs.
