The regional tourism delegate of Tabarka-Aïn Draham, Issa Marouani, confirmed this Monday that the three terrestrial border posts of the governorate of Jendouba-namely Melloula in Tabarka, Babouche in Aïn Draham and Jelil in Ghardimaou-know a sustained activity and an important influx of Algerian tourists.
In a declaration on the radio of the KefMarouani said that the number of Algerian visitors in Tunisia during the month of June exceeded 95,000 tourists, an increase of 17.3 % compared to June 2024, who had recorded the arrival of 81,000 tourists.
He added that during the first half of the current year, the number of Algerian tourists who visited Tunisia exceeded 460,000, against 428,000 during the same period of the previous year, an increase of 7.64 %.
Marouani stressed that this recovery has a positive impact on the boosting of the local economy, especially in the craft and tourism transport sectors.
