The prices of lamb meat exceeded 60 dinars per kilogram, according to Ahmed Amiri, president of the Bouchers Chamber, quoted by the news of the National Radio.
Amiri attributes this price increase to low production as well as to manipulation of figures in the absence of control, criticizing the declarations affirming an abundance of production during the period of Eid Al-Adha.
The spokesman expressed their disapproval of these prices, calling the high cost of “galloping”, and stressed that intermediaries (speculators) dominate the red meat sector.
Ahmed Amiri described the prices of red meat as “unrealistic”, recalling that the problems in this sector date from the 1920s3-2024 and continue this year due to the lack of evaluation and the lack of will of reform.
