Tunisia: Kasbah always hopes to accelerate the digitization of the administration

A ministerial council chaired by the government’s heads, Sarrah Zafrani Zenzriwas held on Tuesday at the Palais de la Kasbah to take stock of the progress of digital transformation projects and announce a series of structuring decisions.

The council also insisted on the importance of classify public data and establish clear governance of this dataconsidered as a Central lever for the development of artificial intelligence (AI). A National Open Data Policy will be adopted, in order to strengthen transparency and encourage innovation, in particular through the integration of AI solutions to detect corruption and tax evasion early.

In his opening speech, Sarrah Zafrani Zenzri stressed that Digital is now a must for modern, transparent and efficient administration.

  • Digital transformation of the administration (99 projects): Development of remote services, generalized interoperability and acceleration of information systems.
  • Promotion of the digital economy (18 projects): exploitation of opportunities offered by AI, training, e-commerce, innovation and entrepreneurship, financial inclusion and electronic payments.
  • Cybersecurity and digital confidence (12 projects): Strengthening systems safety and consolidation of digital trust.
  • Digital infrastructure (9 projects): Generalization of telecommunications network coverage and modernization of administrative infrastructure.
