The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, received on Monday August 25, at the Palais de Carthage, the Sarra Government Chef Zaafrani Zenzri, back from the Tokyo International Conference on the development of Africa (Ticad 9), held from August 20 to 22 in Yokohama.
A global vision rather than sectoral reforms
Beyond the assessment of Tunisian participation in the Ticad, the Head of State insisted on the need to approach the reforms not sector by sector, but in the context of an integrated vision covering all regions and all areas. The displayed objective: relaunch the economy, remove blockages and meet the expectations of Tunisians.
Diversified partnerships and “innovative” texts
Kaïs Saïed spoke of investment projects, especially in renewable infrastructure and energies, calling to diversify international partnerships. He also pleaded for the adoption of new legislative texts breaking with the past and relying on popular legitimacy.
According to him, these reforms should allow the way to victims of injustices:
“These texts as much as the policies arising there, must be” innovative “and based on” legitimacy “appreciated by reference to the expectations of the people and the need to establish a fair, prerequisite for the recovery of the stolen money from the people”.
A clear political message
By this speech, the president reaffirms his orientation: to place social justice and the fight against corruption at the center of economic recovery, while anchoring the strategic choices of the country in popular sovereignty.
