The President of the Republic, Kais Saïed, received the head of government Sarra Zaâfrani Zenzri at the Carthage palace on Monday. This meeting was an opportunity for the Head of State to insist on the need to strengthen the coherence of public action and to recall that State services are “at the service of the citizen”.
A call for state coherence
Kais Saïed stressed that Tunisia is going through a decisive stage in its history, announcing measures “that meet the expectations of the Tunisian people”. He reaffirmed his attachment to the social role of the State, which he considers an irreversible choice, and promised to open new perspectives for citizens whom he describes as “victims of a system which has impoverished the country and sowed division”.
The president also reiterated his commitment to recover the looted funds, warning those who, according to him, “put themselves at the service of colonialist circles” that they will have to answer for their actions.
Warning against online misinformation
Saïed denounced governance “through cyberspace” and warned against disinformation campaigns targeting Tunisia. He praised the conscience and solidarity of the Tunisian people in the face of these attacks which he describes as prepaid and orchestrated from abroad.
Support for the inhabitants of Gabès
Addressing the situation in the regions, the president said that he is closely monitoring local conditions, particularly in Gabès, where environmental studies carried out by citizens have, according to him, an example. He expressed his solidarity with the inhabitants of the region, saluting their dedication and their spirit of initiative in the face of attempts at division.
“Tunisia will remain united,” said Kais Saïed, promising to work tirelessly to guarantee each citizen their legitimate rights to freedom, decent employment, national dignity and a healthy environment.
