During a Council of Ministers held Thursday, September 18, 2025, President Kaïs Saïed warned against an “old system” and lobbies accused of sabotaging Tunisian institutions. He denounced an “fierce war” against the State, crises “made” in vital sectors and reaffirmed the primacy of the new Constitution, calling for a firm application of the law.
A state under “organized attacks”
In a speech disseminated by The official page of the Presidency of the RepublicKaïs Saïed described a Tunisia “besieged” by networks of interest without doctrine, seeking to destabilize the country. Health, education, transport, energy: as many areas affected, according to him, by sabotage and artificial crises, despite the adoption of reforms.
Lobbies in the viewfinder
The president accused “known faces” of orchestrating demonstrations under the guise of social demands. He denounced the waste of public funds and “often deliberate” water and electricity cuts, which he describes as acts of sabotage against citizens.
The primacy of the new Constitution
Hammering that Tunisia is no longer governed by the 2014 Constitution or by the texts before 2011, Kaïs Saïed demanded the strict application of the new fundamental law resulting from the referendum. He called for fair justice, not to settle accounts, but to defend the unity and integrity of the State.
