A decree was published at Official Journal of the Tunisian Republic dated Thursday, September 11, 2025, relating to the increase, from October 2025, of the amounts of the custody allowance granted to resident doctors and interns.

This is decree n ° 406 of the year 2025, modifying decree n ° 318 of 2001 relating to the fixing of the security indemnity, to its conditions of allocation and to its amounts, for agents of the medical and paramedical hospital and hospital-university and hospital-sanitary, hospital doctors exercising in the hospital and public health structures, as well as Resident doctors and medical interns, pharmacy and dental medicine.

According to this new decree, the amount of the childcare allowance now increases to 120 dinars for residents and 88 dinars for the interns of category “A” in hospitals, while the compensation will be 80 dinars for residents and 64 dinars for interns in “B”.

The president of the Tunisian organization of young doctors, Wajih Dhokkar, praised the adoption of this measure, recalling that she was the subject of an agreement during a negotiation session held on July 3 with representatives of the Ministry of Health, following a series of protest movements organized by young doctors to claim several professional rights.

In a declaration to the TAP agency, Dhokkar said that this decision will allow young doctors to benefit from an increase of 40 dinars on the amount of each guard, all categories combined.
