The National Institute of Meteorology (INM) published this Wednesday a monitoring bulletin announcing stormy rains, sometimes intense, in several regions of the center and the south of the country. The inhabitants of Kasserine, Sidi Bouzid, Kairouan, Mahdia, Sfax, Gafsa and Gabès are called to vigilance.
Depending on the forecasts, the quantities of rain will vary between 20 and 40 mm, with cumulatives up to 50 mm locally. These showers will sometimes be accompanied by hail and strong electrical activities (lightning and thunderbolt).
The INM also warns against strong winds, likely to exceed 80 km/h during thunderstorms, thus increasing the risk of material damage and disturbances in the affected areas.
