The head of the General Directorate of Hajj and Umrah, Anis Mzoughi, affirmed that the cost of the 2026 pilgrimage will not exceed 21,000 dinars, despite economic and logistical fluctuations. He also indicated that Tunisia is working, in coordination with the Saudi authorities, to increase its quota to around 11,700 pilgrims.

Rising quota and strong demand

Speaking on National Radio in the program “Youm Saïd”, Anis Mzoughi specified that nearly 240,000 Tunisians registered this year on the national Hajj platform, thus confirming the scale of the demand.

Discussions with the Saudi side aim to obtain more places for Tunisian pilgrims, as part of a constant dialogue between the two countries.

Controlled cost

Mzoughi assured that the Hajj price will remain stable, and that in the event of adjustment, it will not exceed 21,000 dinars. The first flights to the Holy Places are scheduled for May 7, 2026, according to preliminary estimates.

He also clarified that the medical examinations of the candidates continue until November 6, while logistical preparations will begin in December.
