The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad announced the upcoming opening of two new Tunisian consular agencies in France, in Ajaccio and Bordeaux.
The announcement was made on Tuesday through the department’s official indices. This initiative aims to strengthen proximity with the Tunisian diaspora and improve access to consular services.
Strengthening the consular network in France
According to information provided by the ministry, these new agencies are part of a global strategy intended to bring the consular administration closer to Tunisians established abroad. The stated objective is to improve the quality of the services offered and to reduce the constraints linked to geographical distance.
The opening of consular agencies in Ajaccio and Bordeaux responds to a growing demand from Tunisian nationals residing in these regions.
Thirteen Tunisian representations on French territory
With these two new structures, the Tunisian consular network in France will now have thirteen representations. It consists of five consulates general established in Paris, Strasbourg, Lyon, Marseille and Nice, as well as four consulates in Pantin, Toulouse, Grenoble and Montpellier.
The system is completed by four consular agencies, located in Toulon, Lille, Ajaccio and Bordeaux, thus strengthening the territorial coverage of Tunisian consular services.
The ministry also specifies that the Lille consular agency, recently inaugurated, began its activities at the beginning of December.
