The Tunisian civil protection units managed to put out 202 fires in just 24 hours, between July 23 and 24, 2025. A figure revealing the intensity of the fires during this summer period.
Between July 23 at 6 a.m. and July 24 at the same time, Tunisian firefighters carried out 653 interventions, according to a statement by the Civil Protection spokesman.
Among them, 202 interventions concerned fires, distributed in several regions of the country. In addition to the fires, the emergency services were also mobilized for 164 road assistance operations (accidents, breakdowns, evacuations, etc.) and 287 other various interventions, linked to non -road incidents (rescue for people, domestic risks, etc.).
No human loss has been reported, but the authorities call for vigilance, especially in agricultural, forestry zones and in the regions affected by the heat wave.
Since the beginning of the summer, Tunisia has faced an increase in fires, amplified by heat waves and extreme climatic conditions. The Ministry of Agriculture and Civil Protection had already published alert press releases in recent days, calling for caution.
