A fire broke out this Monday morning May 19, 2025 on Monday morning in the engine room of a traveler train connecting Sousse to Tunis.
The train had left Sousse station at 07:40 but had to stop at Kalaâ Kebira station following a fire at the engine level, without any human loss being deplored.
The rapid intervention of the competent services made it possible to control fire, and a replacement locomotive was mobilized to allow passengers to continue their journey.
This incident is not a first. A fire broke out on November 6, 2024 on the train connecting Sousse to Tunis at the Bouargoub region, in the governorate of Nabeul, without causing human damage. The fire suddenly took in one of the train cars, causing a panic movement among the passengers.
