Thursday, August 15, a large national operation targeted the air conditioning market. The teams withdrew 3,295 devices without regulatory label and 86 others without known origin. They also noted 124 economic offenses and 22 customs offenses.
The Ministry of Commerce indicates that the problems concern above all the lack of posting of prices, non-declaration of activity, lack of invoices and the sale of non-compliant products.
Under the authority of governors, the action mobilized the economic police, customs, the Ministry of the Interior and the National Agency for Energy Management. The controllers checked the origin of the products, the presence of an energy label and an QR code indicating consumption. They also checked that the devices reach at least rank 3 of energy efficiency.
Fifty mixed teams took part in the operation. This campaign aims to block the sale of parallel market devices and to prohibit the local marketing of prohibited products. It also seeks to protect buyers and guarantee compliance with technical standards.
