The government’s chef, Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri, received on Wednesday April 30, 2025 at the Palais de la Kasbah, Ioannis Tsakiris, vice-president of the European Investment Bank (BEI), on an official visit to Tunisia. He was accompanied by representatives of the EIB and the European Union.
The exchanges have focused on strengthening cooperation between Tunisia and the BEI, a partner of the country since 1979. This collaboration has enabled 138 projects in key sectors such as infrastructure, transport, energy and education.
Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri stressed the importance of this relationship in the current context of political stability and committed reforms. She praised the signing of new agreements including rail transport, health, education and renewable energies.
It also mentioned the adoption of a new development model, based on an upward approach, which will guide the 2026–2030 national plan.
For its part, Ioannis Tsakiris has reaffirmed the commitment of the EIB to support Tunisia ‘priorities, by funding structuring projects defined by the authorities.
