The prosecution of the economic and financial judicial center ordered, Thursday, September 25, the placement in police custody of the businessman Ahmed Abdelkafi, father of former minister Mohamed Fadhel Abdelkafi. He is suspected of involvement in financial and administrative corruption cases.
According to information communicated and relayed by Mosaique FM, the investigation relates to alleged embezzlement linked to the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC), in the Ministry of Finance. The central brigade of the National Guard of El Aouina was responsible for the execution of the decision.
The public prosecutor said that serious clues of financial and administrative corruption have motivated this measure. The investigations aim to establish the magnitude of irregularities and possible responsibilities in the management of public funds.
Ahmed Abdelkefi is notably known for having founded Tunisia Values in 1991 and several private investment structures.
