The sectoral council of banks and financial institutions decided, this Thursday, to call for a general sectoral strike on October 30 and 31, according to information reported by the site Ech-Chaab News.
This decision comes in defense of the right to organize and the right to negotiation for the year 2025, according to the same source. Representatives of the sector also denounce “unilateral and imposed decisions” taken without consultation, believing that they threaten social dialogue within financial establishments.
The unions are demanding the opening of serious discussions on the professional and social demands of banking sector employees. They emphasize that this strike movement aims to remind people of the importance of respecting commitments and collective bargaining mechanisms.
Unless negotiations progress with the authorities concerned, the banking sector will experience a total shutdown of activity during these two days, which could have repercussions on financial services at the national level.
