As part of preparations for the start of the 2025-2026 school year, the Ministry of Trade and Development of Exports announced that it has launched a preventive control program. Among the flagship measures: the sample of school supplies samples for laboratory analyzes, in order to ensure their health compliance and protect students.

Since early July, the central and regional services of the ministry have been carrying out inspections in the distribution circuits. These controls aim to verify the quality of subsidized school notebooks, from the transformation of paper to the sale, as well as the regularity of the labeling of school supplies.

Factical food

At the same time, product samples have been taken and sent to the laboratory to detect possible harmful substances, including heavy metals and certain organic compounds, reports the TAP agency.

The ministry said it had seized supplies imitating food products. These fake products are deemed dangerous for the health of children. He also seized school and office glues, forbidden to import and marketed. These measures are part of consumer protection and health risk prevention.

Regularity of commercial transactions

Finally, the program encompasses the verification of the regularity of commercial transactions: existence of purchase invoices, import files, specifications for the exercise of activity, commercial register, price reductions as well as the regularity of the supply.

Each year, as back to school approaches, economic authorities intensify their controls to prevent fraud and protect Tunisian families against poor quality or dangerous products. This system also aims to combat speculation and guarantee the transparency of commercial transactions.
