The National Institute of Meteorology announces an autumn 2025 warmer than normal. Temperatures will exceed the 1991-2020 reference averages, with an estimated probability of 70 % throughout the country.
Precipitation will be down. The season promises to be drier than usual.
Between 1991 and 2020, the national average temperature in autumn was 21.4 ° C. The differences remain important: between 16.3 and 18.5 ° C in the heights of the west, against nearly 28.8 ° C in the south. The rains follow the same contrast, with 356 mm on average in the north and only 21 to 90 mm in the south.
September marks the transition between summer and fall. Temperatures oscillate between 20 and 30 ° C. The rains, irregular, sometimes reach 80 mm in certain regions, while others remain almost dry.
In October, mercury gradually dropped. It varies from 17 ° C in the west to 25 ° C in the extreme south. The north receives between 60 and 120 mm of rain, while the center and the south rarely exceed 60 mm.
In November, the cold season settled. Temperatures drop to 11 ° C in the west and 19 ° C in the south. The north remains wet with 40 to 160 mm of rain, while the rest of the country does not exceed 41 mm.
Fall 2025 should therefore be marked by an increase in temperatures and a drop in precipitation, accentuating the risk of drought in several regions.
