Tunisian civil protection units carried out 588 interventions in one day, including 132 to master fires across the country. An assessment that reflects the intensity of solicitations on the ground.
The civil protection services lived a particularly intense day, with 588 interventions identified throughout the national territory between July 6 at 6:00 am and July 7 at the same time. This is what the institution’s official spokesperson said on Monday.
The most striking figure concerns the 132 fires under control in just 24 hours. These fires, declared in various regions, required increased mobilization of firefighters, during this period of high heat when the risks of fire departures are multiplied.
In addition to the fight against flames, civil protection agents also provided 154 road rescue interventions, assistance to motorists in distress or as a result of accidents.
In addition, 289 other operations were carried out as part of various incidents, not linked to traffic accidents. These may be medical emergencies, evacuation of people, gas leaks or technical interventions.
This assessment reflects the degree of permanent commitment of civil protection units, on the front line to guarantee the safety of people and goods, in a context marked by demanding climatic conditions and increased trips during summer.
