The Ministry of Finance has announced, in response to written questions of several deputies from the Assembly of People’s Representatives, that at least 10,060 teachers and teachers will be regularized in 2025. This measure will increase a 3.4 % increase in the budget of the Ministry of Education for the year 2025.
The regularization will continue in 2026 with the integration of 13,837 other alternate teachers, representing a budgetary impact of 374 million dinars, an increase of 4.6 % of the budget of the ministry.
These decisions are part of the application of decree n ° 21 of the year 2025, dated January 8, 2025, relating to the integration of substitute teachers in primary schools, colleges and high schools under the Ministry of Education.
Asked about a possible increase in the credit ceiling allocated to education, the Ministry of Finance indicated that a significant support for the sector budget is envisaged for 2026, with a priority given to compulsory expenses, to the continuation of current projects, as well as to presidential decisions and to government measures announced, with the aim of improving and modernizing the education system.
In addition, the ministry recalls that the budget of the Ministry of Education experienced notable increase between 2010 and 2025, going from 2.99 billion dinars in 2010 to 8.04 billion dinars in 2025, an overall increase of 5.05 billion dinars over fifteen years.
