A ministerial council was held this Tuesday to take stock of the development of the 2026 finance bill, wanted as a structural transformation tool.
The government’s heading, Sara Zaafrani Zenzri, presided over Tuesday, July 22, 2025 on Tuesday, 2025, at the Palais de la Kasbah, a ministerial council devoted to monitoring the development of the finance bill for the year 2026.
From the opening of the session, she affirmed that this project constitutes a reflection of the strategic orientations of the State, with the ambition of reconciling economic growth and social justice, in accordance with the vision of President Kaïs Saïed.
This budget should not be summed up in a simple series of figures and percentages, she insisted, but being a translation of the popular will, breaking with the past approaches deemed ineffective.
Government’s heading called for:
- align the project on national priorities, by focusing on self -sufficiency,
- use innovative financing mechanisms, breaking with conventional methods,
- reduce expenses, while stimulating economic activity,
- Reform the economic and social model through a legislative overhaul.
The main axes selected in the 2026 budget draft are: as follows:
- Strengthening of the social state: better management of vulnerable categories, economic integration and improvement of living conditions.
- Fight against unemployment: opening new recruitments in the public service and regularization of unanswered administrative situations.
- Regional development: prioritization of projects from local, regional councils and intermediate levels.
- Recovery of public investment, engine of private investment, in particular for citizen companies and SMEs.
- Deep reforms in the health, transport and education sectors.
- Support for renewable energies.
- Integration of the informal economy and introduction of real tax equity.
Next step: finalization of the project and adoption in the parliamentary calendar, consistent with the 2026–2030 development plan.
